Algerian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Qatar in 2026. The application is entirely online and typically processed within a few days, so plan ahead. Once approved, you'll receive a PDF — print it and keep a copy on your phone.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before departure
Apply for a Qatar eVisa at the Hukoomi portal before you fly. Processing takes 3–5 working days, and the visa is linked electronically to your passport — no sticker or stamp. Print the approval email and carry it with your boarding pass.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your Algerian passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Qatar. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers in Doha routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or show it on your phone. Without one, you risk being refused entry and sent back on the next flight.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel booking confirmation or a letter from your Qatari host (with their ID copy and address). Immigration may ask for it at the counter, especially if you arrive without a pre-arranged hotel.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash or card balance
Carry at least 2,000 QAR (about $550 USD) in cash or show a bank statement. Immigration rarely checks this for short stays, but it helps if they ask about your ability to support yourself.Recommended
Apply early — processing can take up to 5 days
Don't wait until the last minute. The eVisa system is reliable but not instant. Submit your application at least a week before departure.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa PDF, passport scan, and flight booking on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose the paper copy, you can still show the digital version at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the Hukoomi portal (Qatar's government services website) and fill out the eVisa application. Upload a scanned copy of your passport bio page and a recent passport-style photo. Pay the fee online — typically around 100 QAR. Processing takes 2–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get a PDF by email. Print a paper copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at immigration in Doha.
3
Arrive at Hamad International Airport (DOH)
After landing, follow signs to 'Arrivals' and join the queue for 'Foreign Passports'. Have your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket ready. The officer will scan your passport and stamp it — usually takes 2–3 minutes.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, head to the baggage claim area. Then proceed through customs (green channel for most tourists). You're free to enter Qatar.
