Sri Lanka entry requirements for Estonia passport holders
Estonian passport holders get a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival in Sri Lanka. It's valid for single entry and processed at Colombo airport. This policy is in effect as of 2026.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Visa on arrival Apply for ETA before travel | Sri Lanka offers a visa on arrival for Estonian passport holders, but you must apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) online before departure. Go to eta.gov.lk, fill in the form, and pay the fee — approval usually comes within minutes. Print the approval email or save it on your phone; immigration at Colombo will ask for it.Apply for ETA | Required |
| Valid passport Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay | Your Estonian passport needs at least 6 months of validity from the date you enter Sri Lanka. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration at Colombo will deny boarding if it's shorter. No blank pages required beyond the visa page. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Required for entry | Immigration officers at Bandaranaike International Airport routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready. Without it, you may be refused entry or asked to buy a ticket at the airport. | Required |
| Proof of accommodation Recommended to have on hand | While not strictly required, having a hotel booking or a letter of invitation from a host speeds up the immigration process. Officers may ask where you're staying, and a printed confirmation avoids delays. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Recommended to show you can support yourself | Sri Lanka doesn't enforce a specific minimum amount, but carrying at least $500 USD in cash or showing a credit card statement helps if asked. ATMs are widely available in Colombo and major towns. | Recommended |
