Sri Lanka entry requirements for Estonia passport holders
Estonian passport holders get a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival in Sri Lanka. It's valid for single entry and processed at Colombo airport. This policy is in effect as of 2026.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Visa on arrival ETA application | Sri Lanka offers a visa on arrival for Estonian passport holders, but you must apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) online before travel. Go to eta.gov.lk, complete the form, and pay the fee (typically $35–$50 USD depending on duration). Approval usually comes within minutes — print the confirmation or save it on your phone.Apply for ETA | Required |
| Valid passport Must cover entire stay | Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity from your date of entry into Sri Lanka. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration officers at Colombo (CMB) enforce it strictly. If your passport expires sooner, renew it before you book. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Proof of departure | Immigration at Bandaranaike International Airport routinely asks for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a digital version ready on your phone. If you're flying out to a third country, that ticket works too. | Required |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or invitation letter | Officers may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel. Have a booking confirmation or a letter from a host with their address and contact number. Not always checked, but saves time if asked. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Show you can support yourself | You might be asked to show you have enough money for your stay — around $50 USD per day is a safe benchmark. A credit card statement or a few hundred dollars in cash works. Rarely checked for short visits, but better to have it. | Recommended |
