Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Mauritanian eVisa portal (https://www.evisa.mr/) and fill out the application form. You will need your passport details, a digital photo, and your travel itinerary. The form takes about 15 minutes to complete.

Pay the eVisa fee and wait for approval
Pay the processing fee online with a credit or debit card. Processing typically takes a few business days — check your email for the approval notice. Do not book non-refundable flights until you have the approved eVisa.

Print your eVisa approval
Once approved, print a paper copy of the eVisa. Keep it with your passport — you will need to show it at the airline check-in desk and to Mauritanian immigration on arrival.

Arrive at the port of entry
At Nouakchott–Oumtounsy International Airport (or other entry points), proceed to the immigration desk. Present your passport and printed eVisa. The officer will stamp your passport and note your allowed stay.

Keep your passport and eVisa together during your stay
Carry your passport and a copy of the eVisa with you. Police or immigration officials may ask to see them during random checks, especially outside Nouakchott.
