Apply early — processing can be slow

Apply for the eVisa online
Go to visas.immigration.go.ug, create an account, fill in the application form, upload your passport photo and passport data page, pay the fee (around $50 for a single-entry tourist visa), and submit. Processing usually takes 3–5 working days, but can be faster.

Receive and print the approval letter
Once approved, you'll get an email with a PDF approval letter. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival.

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport
Most flights from Europe land at Entebbe. After deplaning, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Visa on Arrival' (even though you have an eVisa). Join the queue for 'eVisa holders' — it's usually shorter than the regular line. Present your passport, approval letter, and return ticket. You'll be asked to look at a camera for a photo and fingerprints. The officer stamps your passport — you're in.

Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually a quick bag scan. Exit into the arrivals hall where drivers and hotel reps wait.
