Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Estonian passport needs to be valid for the entire time you're in Kosovo. No minimum validity period beyond your stay is required by Kosovo authorities, but airlines may enforce a 3-month validity rule — check with your carrier before departure.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kosovo
Immigration at Pristina International Airport routinely asks for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready. Overland exit is also accepted — show a bus or train ticket if you're leaving by land.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may ask where you're staying. A hotel confirmation email or a letter from a host with their address and phone number is enough. No specific format required.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Kosovo does not publish a fixed minimum amount, but officers expect you to cover accommodation, food, and transport. Carry around €50–€100 per day in cash or have a bank statement showing available funds.Recommended
Kosovo uses the Euro
Even though Kosovo is not in the EU, the official currency is the Euro. You can use euros from any country. ATMs dispense euros, and credit cards are accepted in most hotels and restaurants in Pristina.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Kosovo immigration counts 6 months from your entry date, not your departure. If your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding or entry. Check your passport now.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Pristina International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. There are separate queues for EU/EEA and other nationals. As an Estonian, use the EU/EEA line. Have your passport ready.
2
Present your passport to the officer
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your photo, validity, and may ask about your stay duration and accommodation. Answer briefly and honestly.
3
Receive your entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the entry date and allowed stay. Check the stamp before leaving the counter. If anything looks wrong, ask politely.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There are no additional forms or fees for Estonian passport holders.
