Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for an Albania eVisa at the official portal before departure. Processing takes 3–5 business days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Egyptian passport must be valid for at least the full duration of your stay in Albania. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by Albanian law, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration at Tirana International Airport routinely asks for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing your exit from Albania or the Schengen zone.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Albania. Border officers may ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or card
Have at least €50 per day of stay available in cash, bank statement, or credit card. Officers rarely check, but they can ask if you look underfunded.Recommended
Passport validity is strict
Albanian immigration enforces the 6-month rule. If your passport expires sooner, your eVisa will be denied and you won't be allowed to board your flight. Check your passport's expiry date before you apply.
No visa on arrival for Egyptian passport holders
You cannot get a visa at the airport or border. The eVisa must be approved before you travel. Arriving without one means you'll be refused entry and sent back.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Albanian eVisa website, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive your eVisa by email
Once approved, you'll get a PDF via email. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at passport control in Albania.
3
Arrive at a port of entry in Albania
At Tirana International Airport (TIA) or any land border crossing, go to the foreign passport queue. Hand over your passport and eVisa (printed or on phone). The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation confirmation — have them ready.
4
Get your passport stamped
The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date and the number of days you're allowed to stay. Check the stamp before leaving the counter — if something looks off, ask for clarification right there.
