Apply for the e-visa early
The e-visa portal (snedai.com) can be slow or have glitches. Apply at least 7-10 days before your trip to avoid last-minute stress. Print two copies of the approval — one for your bag, one for your carry-on.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-visa online
Go to the official Côte d'Ivoire e-visa portal (snedai.com). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page, and pay the visa fee (around 70,000 XOF, about €107). Processing usually takes 2-5 business days. You'll receive an approval email with a PDF. Print it and keep a copy on your phone.
2
Prepare your documents for travel
Before you fly, gather: your printed e-visa approval, passport with 6+ months validity and 1 blank page, return/onward ticket, first night hotel booking, and travel insurance. Keep them in your carry-on, not checked luggage.
3
Arrive at Félix-Houphouët-Boigny International Airport (ABJ) in Abidjan
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Passport Control'. Join the queue for foreign passports. Have your passport, printed e-visa, and boarding pass ready. The officer will check your visa, stamp your passport, and ask a few questions (purpose of visit, where you're staying). Answer clearly. After the stamp, collect your luggage and proceed to customs.
