Frequently asked questions

Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, but it can vary. It's best to apply at least 2 weeks before your planned travel to avoid delays. You'll get an email once your eVisa is approved.
No, the eVisa is not extendable. You must leave the country before your 30 days are up. If you need to stay longer, you'd have to exit and re-enter with a new eVisa, or check with Somali immigration for other options.
You'll likely be denied entry. The eVisa is mandatory for Egyptian passport holders. There's no visa-on-arrival option for this nationality, so make sure you have your approved eVisa before boarding your flight.
The eVisa is primarily for entry via major airports like Mogadishu (Aden Adde International). If you plan to enter by land or sea, check with Somali authorities – the eVisa may not be accepted at all border crossings.
If your application is rejected, you'll receive an email explaining why. You can reapply with corrected information, or contact the Somali immigration office for help. The fee is usually non-refundable, so double-check your details before submitting.
Somalia requires a yellow fever vaccination certificate if you're arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission. Egypt is not on that list, but if you've traveled to such a country recently, you'll need to show proof. It's always a good idea to carry your vaccination card.
No, the eVisa is single-entry. If you leave Somalia, you'll need to apply for a new eVisa to re-enter. Plan your travel accordingly.
