Spanish passport holders need an eVisa to enter Cameroon in 2026. The application is done entirely online before you travel, and you'll need to show the approved visa on arrival in Yaoundé or Douala.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Cameroon eVisa at the official portal before departure. Processing takes 72 hours — do not book flights until approved. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Cameroon. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or show it on your phone. Without one, expect to be questioned and potentially refused entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Cameroon. Immigration may ask where you are staying — a booking confirmation on your phone works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry cash (Euros or CFA francs) or a bank statement showing sufficient funds for your stay. Immigration rarely checks this, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory
You'll likely be asked for your yellow fever certificate at immigration. Without it, you could be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport (and pay a fee). Get the shot at least 10 days before you fly.
Keep cash for arrival expenses
ATMs at Yaoundé and Douala airports can be unreliable. Bring some euros or US dollars to exchange, or withdraw cash in advance. Credit cards are not widely accepted outside major hotels.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisacameroon.com and fill out the application. You'll need a digital passport photo, a scan of your passport info page, and your flight itinerary. Pay the fee (around €70–€100 depending on processing speed). Approval takes 3–7 business days.
2
Print your eVisa and pack supporting documents
Once approved, print the eVisa PDF. Also print or save on your phone: your return ticket, hotel booking, and travel insurance. Keep them together in a folder.
3
Arrive at Yaoundé or Douala airport
Most flights land at Yaoundé Nsimalen or Douala International. After deplaning, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Passport Control'. Have your passport, eVisa, and return ticket ready.
4
Go through immigration
Hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask how long you're staying and where. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport — check the stamp says the correct number of days (usually up to 90).
5
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel. You may be asked to show your yellow fever vaccination card at customs — have it handy. Then walk through the green channel if you have nothing to declare.
