Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Spanish passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to be in Jamaica. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Jamaican immigration, but airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Jamaica
Immigration officers at Norman Manley and Sangster airports routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they will deny boarding if you cannot show one.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed or digital hotel confirmation for your entire stay. If staying with friends or family, have their address and phone number written down — officers sometimes call to verify.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements or a credit card ready to show you have enough money for your stay. Officers rarely ask for this, but if they do, they want to see at least $50 USD per day of your trip.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter Jamaica. Airlines check this at check-in. If your passport expires sooner, you won't be allowed to board.
No visa, but don't skip the return ticket
Even though you don't need a visa, you must have a return or onward ticket. Immigration officers routinely ask for it. Keep a screenshot on your phone.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare documents before departure
Check your passport validity (6+ months from entry date) and that you have at least 1 blank page. Book your return ticket and first night accommodation. Print or screenshot confirmations.
2
At the airport in Spain
At check-in, the airline will verify your passport and return ticket. They may also ask for proof of accommodation. If everything's in order, you'll get your boarding pass.
3
Arrival at Jamaican airport
At Norman Manley International (Kingston) or Sangster International (Montego Bay), follow signs to 'Immigration'. Join the queue for foreign visitors. Have your passport and return ticket ready. The officer will stamp you in for up to 90 days.
4
After immigration
Collect your luggage, then proceed to customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. Exit into the arrivals hall.
