Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay in Seychelles
Your Spanish passport needs at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Seychelles does not enforce a 6-month validity rule — your passport just needs to be valid for the duration of your stay.Required
Return or onward ticket
Immigration checks this at the counter
You need a confirmed onward or return flight out of Seychelles. Immigration at Pointe Larue Airport asks for this before they stamp you in — have your boarding pass or e-ticket ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have your hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host ready. Immigration may ask where you're staying — showing a booking confirmation avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during the stay
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing you have enough funds for your trip. Seychelles is expensive — a daily budget of €100–150 per person is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Travel Authorization (eTA)
Mandatory online pre-approval before departure
All visa-free visitors must apply for a Seychelles Travel Authorization at seychelles.govtas.com at least 24 hours before travel. The application costs €10 and asks for your passport, flight, and accommodation details. Print the approval email — immigration checks it at check-in and on arrival.Apply for Travel AuthorizationRequired
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines check this before you board. If your passport expires within 6 months of your arrival date, you will likely be denied boarding. Renew your passport well in advance.
No visa needed, but documents are still checked
Even though it's visa-free, immigration will ask for your return ticket and accommodation proof. Have them ready to avoid delays.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before you fly
Gather your passport (valid 6+ months), return ticket, and first-night accommodation confirmation. Save screenshots on your phone and keep a printed copy in your carry-on.
2
Arrive at Seychelles International Airport (SEZ)
After landing, follow signs to Immigration. Join the queue for foreign visitors. Have your passport, boarding pass, and supporting documents ready.
3
Present documents to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport, return ticket, and accommodation proof. The officer may ask a few questions (purpose of visit, length of stay). Answer clearly and confidently.
4
Receive your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a visitor's permit valid for up to 90 days. Check the stamp says the correct number of days before leaving the counter.
5
Collect luggage and exit
Proceed to baggage claim, then customs. Declare any restricted items (large amounts of cash, plant products, etc.). Then you're free to enter Seychelles.

Frequently asked questions

Extensions are not available for Spanish passport holders under the visa-free policy. You must leave before the 90 days are up. If you need to stay longer, you'd have to apply for a different visa type before your current permit expires.
You will likely be denied boarding by the airline or refused entry at immigration. Renew your passport before traveling. The 6 months are counted from your arrival date, not your departure.
Only if you are arriving from a country with yellow fever risk (or transited through one for more than 12 hours). Otherwise, no vaccine is required for entry from Spain.
The standard visitor permit does not allow paid work. However, Seychelles offers a 'Workcation Retreat' program for remote workers — you'd need to apply separately for that. Check the official Seychelles immigration website for details.
The local currency is the Seychellois rupee (SCR). Euros and US dollars are widely accepted at hotels and larger restaurants, but you'll get better rates using local currency. ATMs are available in Victoria and at the airport. Credit cards work in most tourist areas.
No. There is no mandatory arrival declaration or online pre-registration for Spanish passport holders. You simply present your documents at the immigration counter upon arrival.
Overstaying is taken seriously. You may be fined, detained, or banned from re-entering Seychelles. Always leave before your permit expires. If you have a genuine emergency, contact the Department of Immigration in Victoria as soon as possible.
