Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Spanish passport needs to be valid for the entire time you're in Kosovo. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Kosovo immigration, but airlines may enforce a 3-month rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kosovo
Border officers at Pristina International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel. A printed booking confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and phone number covers this.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Officers occasionally ask for proof of sufficient funds — roughly €50 per day of your stay. A recent bank statement or a credit card with a decent limit usually satisfies them.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Kosovo, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, you will be denied entry.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save screenshots of your return ticket, accommodation booking, and insurance policy on your phone. Immigration may ask to see them, and airport WiFi can be unreliable.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you travel, check your passport is valid for 6+ months from entry date. Book your return/onward ticket and first night accommodation. Save digital copies (screenshots) of your booking confirmations and insurance policy on your phone.
2
Arrive at Pristina International Airport
At Pristina Airport (PRN), follow signs to 'Passport Control' for non-EU/non-Schengen arrivals. Join the queue for 'All Passports' — there is no separate EU lane. Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
3
Present your passport and answer questions
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask: purpose of visit, length of stay, where you are staying, and when you are leaving. Answer clearly and briefly. They may also ask to see your return ticket or accommodation proof — have them ready.
4
Receive entry stamp
If everything is in order, the officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry. Check the stamp is legible before walking away. You are now allowed to stay up to 90 days.
