Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay
Your Ethiopian passport needs at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry into Oman. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers in Oman routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Oman. Immigration may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Have a recent bank statement or enough cash to cover your stay. Officers rarely ask, but if they do, show at least $500 or the equivalent in OMR.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no visa on arrival
Ethiopian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Oman. You must apply and receive approval for an eVisa before you travel. Without it, you will be denied boarding.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa, passport bio page, return ticket, and hotel confirmation as PDFs or screenshots on your phone. Also carry printed copies in your hand luggage. This makes immigration smooth and avoids problems if your phone dies.

What happens at the border
