Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your Finnish passport needs to be valid for your entire stay in Albania. No minimum validity period beyond your departure date is required by Albanian law, but airlines may enforce a 3-month validity rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Albania
Immigration officers at Tirana International Airport may ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound booking ready — they rarely check it for Finnish passport holders, but it's better to have it.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Keep a copy of your hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host. Border officers rarely ask for it, but if you're staying at a private address, a simple invitation letter with your host's contact details works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient means for your stay
Albania does not enforce a specific minimum amount, but carry at least €50–€100 per day in cash or have a credit card with available balance. ATMs are widely available in Tirana and major towns, so you don't need to bring large sums.Recommended
6-month passport validity is strictly enforced
Albanian immigration checks your passport expiry date against your entry date. If it's less than 6 months away, you will be refused entry. No exceptions.
No visa, no fee, no forms
Finnish passport holders enter Albania visa-free for up to 90 days. There is no application, no fee, and no arrival form to fill. Just your passport and a return ticket.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at passport control
At Tirana International Airport or any land border, join the 'All Passports' queue. Have your passport and return ticket ready. The officer will stamp you in — no forms to fill.
2
Show your passport and ticket
Hand over your passport. If asked, show your return ticket (screenshot is fine). The officer may ask your purpose of visit — say 'tourism' or 'business'. They rarely ask for accommodation proof.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the entry date. Check the stamp is legible before walking away. You're now allowed to stay up to 90 days.
