Finnish passport holders can enter Colombia without a visa for tourism or business stays up to 90 days. As of 2026, the only pre-arrival requirement is completing the free Check-Mig online form within 72 hours before your flight. No visa fees, no embassy visits — just show up with a valid passport and a return ticket.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to be in Colombia. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration officers verify it on arrival.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Colombia
Immigration may ask for a return or onward ticket to confirm you're leaving within 90 days. Have a printed or digital copy ready — budget airlines sometimes check this before boarding.Recommended
Check-Mig pre-registrationColombia's mandatory online pre-registration form at migracioncolombia.gov.co. Complete it within 72 hours before your flight — it takes under 5 minutes.
Mandatory online form within 72 hours of departure
Complete the free Check-Mig form at migracioncolombia.gov.co within 72 hours before your flight. Takes under 5 minutes — you get a QR code to show at check-in and immigration.Open Check-Mig formRequired
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration rarely asks for this, but having a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host shows you have a place to stay. Keep a copy on your phone.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Officers may ask for bank statements or cash to confirm you have enough for your trip. A credit card and a recent statement usually satisfy this request.Recommended
Check-Mig is mandatory
Complete the free form at migracioncolombia.gov.co within 24–72 hours before your flight. It's quick and saves time at immigration. Don't skip it — you'll be asked to do it at the airport anyway.
Overstaying is costly
If you stay past 90 days, you'll face a fine of about 2–3 USD per day overstayed, plus potential entry bans. Set a reminder to leave on time.

What happens at the border

1
Complete Check-Mig online
Go to migracioncolombia.gov.co and fill in the free form. You'll need your flight number, passport details, and first accommodation address. Do this 24–72 hours before departure — not earlier, not at the last minute.
2
Arrive at El Dorado Airport (Bogotá)
Follow signs to 'Migración Colombia' after deplaning. There are separate queues for foreigners and Colombian nationals. Join the foreigners line. Have your passport, boarding pass, and Check-Mig confirmation ready.
3
Present documents to immigration officer
Hand over your passport and the Check-Mig confirmation (printed or on your phone). The officer may ask your purpose of visit and how long you're staying. Answer briefly and honestly. They'll stamp your passport with up to 90 days.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After the stamp, proceed to baggage claim. Customs is usually a green/red light system — press a button. Green means no inspection. Red means a quick bag check. Then you're free to leave.
