Kenya entry requirements for Finland passport holders
Finnish passport holders need a visa to enter Kenya. You must apply for an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) online before you travel. This requirement has been in place since 2024.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| eVisa application Apply before travel | Apply for a Kenya eVisa at the official eTA portal. Processing takes 2–5 business days, and you need a digital passport photo and flight details. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisa | Required |
| Valid passport Must be valid for 6 months beyond your intended departure from Kenya | Your Finnish passport needs at least 6 months of validity from the date you leave Kenya. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Proof of onward travel | Immigration officers at JKIA ask for a return or onward ticket before stamping you in. Have a printed copy or a digital booking confirmation ready on your phone. | Required |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or host invitation | Carry a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host. Officers sometimes ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Show you can cover your stay | Have bank statements or a credit card showing access to at least $500 USD for the trip. Immigration rarely asks, but it helps if you look under-prepared. | Recommended |
