Lebanon entry requirements for France passport holders
French passport holders can get a visa on arrival in Lebanon, valid for up to 30 days. This has been the case since 2024 and remains in effect for 2026. You'll need to pay the fee in cash at the airport and have a few documents ready.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Visa on arrival Visa on arrival | French passport holders get a free 1-month visa on arrival at Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport. Hand over your passport at the immigration counter — no advance application needed. The visa is extendable at the General Security office in Beirut for up to 3 months (pay a fee in USD cash).Visa info | Required |
| Valid passport Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay | Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity from your date of entry into Lebanon. Airlines at CDG and other French airports check this before boarding — they will deny you if your passport expires sooner. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Required for visa on arrival | Immigration officers at Beirut airport ask for a return or onward ticket before stamping your visa on arrival. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready. If you're flying out via a different airline, show that itinerary. | Required |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or host invitation | Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Lebanon. Immigration rarely asks for it, but having it avoids delays if they do. A simple Booking.com confirmation works. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Cash or card for your stay | Bring enough USD cash or a working credit/debit card to cover your expenses. Lebanon's economy runs on USD cash — ATMs are unreliable and often empty. Budget at least $50–$100 per day for a comfortable trip. | Recommended |
