Border crossing by land (e.g., from Russia or China)
At land borders like Altanbulag (from Russia) or Zamyn-Üüd (from China), go to the 'Foreign Passports' window. Present your passport and onward ticket. The officer will stamp you in. Expect a short wait if buses arrive at the same time.

Departure from Mongolia
At the airport or land border, go through exit immigration. They'll check your passport and stamp you out. No exit fee. If you overstayed, you'll pay a fine (about 1,000 MNT per day) at the immigration office before leaving.
