British passport holders can travel to Oman without a visa for stays of up to 30 days. You'll get a free entry stamp on arrival at any airport, land border, or seaport — no paperwork needed beforehand. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry.
Visa / Entry PermitYou can enter Oman without a visa for short visits, but longer stays need a pre-approved e-visa.
Visa-free entry for UK citizens
UK passport holders do not need a visa in advance for tourism or business stays of up to 14 days. Entry is granted on arrival. For longer stays or other purposes, you must apply for an e-visa before travel.
Not required
Passport validityCheck your passport expiry date — if it's less than 6 months away, renew it before you travel.
Minimum 6 months from arrival
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended date of arrival in Oman.
Required
Blank passport pagesOman immigration will stamp your passport on arrival, so a clean page is needed.
At least 1 blank page
Your passport must contain at least 1 blank page for the entry stamp. Ensure no visa stickers or markings occupy the page.
Required
Return or onward ticketImmigration may ask to see your exit ticket to confirm you won't overstay.
Proof of departure
You must hold a confirmed return or onward flight ticket showing departure from Oman within the permitted visa-free period (14 days).
Required
Proof of fundsCarry a credit card or some cash in case an officer asks how you'll support yourself.
Sufficient means of support

Recommended
Arrival declarationYou don't need to fill out any arrival form before landing.
Not required
No arrival declaration or health form is required for UK citizens entering Oman as of 2026.
Not required
E-visa application (if applicable)For short tourist trips, skip this step; for longer or non-tourist visits, apply online in advance.
Only for stays over 14 days or other purposes
If you plan to stay longer than 14 days, or your visit is for work, study, or residence, you must apply for an e-visa through the Royal Oman Police e-visa portal before travel. The visa fee and processing time vary by type.
Optional
Passport validity is strict
Oman requires 6 months of passport validity from your arrival date. Even if you're only staying a week, a passport with 5 months left will get you turned away. Check before you book.
No visa fees, no forms
UK passport holders get a free entry stamp on arrival. No online application, no payment, no paperwork. Just walk up to passport control with your passport.
30 days is the limit — no extensions
The visa-free entry is strictly 30 days and cannot be extended. Overstaying can result in fines. If you plan a longer trip, apply for a tourist eVisa before you travel via the Royal Oman Police eVisa portal.
What happens at the border
1
Prepare your documents
Before you fly, check your passport has at least 6 months validity and one blank page. Have your return ticket and hotel booking handy — either printed or on your phone.
2
Arrive at the airport
At Muscat International Airport (or Salalah, Sohar, Duqm), follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Passport Control'. Join the queue for 'Foreigners' — not the GCC nationals line.
3
Get your entry stamp
Hand over your passport to the immigration officer. They'll check your details, stamp your passport, and wave you through. No visa fee, no forms to fill. This usually takes 2–5 minutes.
4
Collect your bags and exit
After passport control, collect your luggage from the carousel and walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have nothing to declare. You're free to enter Oman.
