Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for your Moldova eVisa at evisa.gov.md. The online form takes about 15 minutes — upload your passport scan, photo, and travel details. Processing usually takes 3–5 working days, and the eVisa is sent to your email as a PDF. Print it and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your Ghanaian passport needs at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Moldova does not enforce the 6-month validity rule — your passport just needs to be valid for the duration of your stay. Airlines sometimes check for 6 months, so verify with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Moldova
Border officers at Chișinău Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready. If you're continuing to another country, a bus or train ticket also works.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration may ask where you're staying. A hotel confirmation email or a letter from your host with their address and contact number is enough. Airbnb bookings are accepted.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Officers rarely ask for bank statements, but having one ready avoids delays. Carry at least €50 per day of your stay in cash or a card you can use at ATMs in Chișinău.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory
Ghanaian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Moldova. You must apply and receive approval before your flight.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Moldova, not from your departure date. Check your expiry date carefully.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Moldova eVisa portal (evisa.gov.md). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (if any) and submit. Processing typically takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get the eVisa by email. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and upon arrival in Moldova.
3
Arrive at Chișinău International Airport
Most flights from Ghana arrive via Istanbul or other European hubs. At passport control, present your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation booking. The officer will stamp you in. The process is straightforward — expect a short queue.
