Ghanaian passport holders need a visa to enter Pakistan in 2026. You must apply online through the official visa portal before you travel — there are no visa-on-arrival or e-visa options for Ghanaian citizens.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Pakistan eVisa at visa.nadra.gov.pk at least 7–10 days before departure. The eVisa is valid for single or multiple entry depending on the visa type. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Islamabad and Karachi will ask to see it.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your Ghanaian passport must be valid for at least the full duration of your stay in Pakistan. Airlines at Kotoka International Airport will check this before boarding. Carry at least two blank visa pages.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration at Pakistani airports will ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket before clearing you. Budget airlines like Airblue and Serene Air check this at check-in. A ticket to a third country works as long as it leaves Pakistan.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host letter
Immigration officers may ask where you are staying. Have a printed hotel reservation or a letter from your host in Pakistan. If staying with family, the host's CNIC copy and address help speed things up.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Carry a bank statement showing at least $500 USD equivalent for a short stay, or have cash in USD or PKR. Immigration rarely asks, but if they do, showing a credit card or ATM card is not enough — they want to see actual funds.Recommended
Apply early — no last-minute options
There is no visa-on-arrival or e-visa for Ghanaian passport holders. You must get a visa sticker in your passport before you fly. Start the process at least 3 weeks ahead.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save screenshots of your visa, return ticket, hotel booking, and insurance on your phone. Immigration may ask to see them, and having them ready avoids delays.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your visa online
Go to visa.nadra.gov.pk and complete the visa application form. Upload your passport photo, passport scan, and any supporting documents. Pay the visa fee online. Processing usually takes 5–10 working days.
2
Receive and check your visa
Once approved, you'll get a visa sticker in your passport (either mailed or collected from the nearest Pakistan embassy). Check that your name, passport number, and validity dates are correct.
3
Book your flight and accommodation
Book a return or onward ticket and your first night's accommodation. Keep confirmations handy — you'll need them at immigration.
4
Arrive at a Pakistan airport
You'll land at Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, or another international airport. Go to the immigration counter, present your passport with the visa sticker, and your return ticket. The officer may ask about your purpose of visit and where you're staying.
5
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel and proceed through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel.
