Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Ghanaian passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Seychelles. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires before you leave, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Seychelles
Immigration officers at Seychelles International Airport always ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a clear digital version on your phone ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Seychelles. Immigration may ask where you are staying — having a booking reference speeds things up.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Have access to at least $150 USD per day of your stay, either in cash, a debit card, or a credit card. Immigration rarely checks this, but budget airlines sometimes ask at check-in.Recommended
Yellow fever certificate required if coming from Ghana
If you've been in Ghana or any other country with yellow fever risk within 6 days before arriving in Seychelles, you must show a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate. Without it, you may be refused entry or quarantined. Carry the original certificate.
No visa needed, but don't skip the basics
Even though you don't need a visa, you still need a valid passport, return ticket, and accommodation booking. Immigration checks these at the counter. Have them ready to avoid delays.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Seychelles International Airport (SEZ)
You'll land at Pointe Larue on Mahé. Follow signs to immigration. The queue moves quickly, but it can get busy during peak hours (late morning and early evening).
2
Present your documents to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport, return ticket (printed or on your phone), and accommodation booking. The officer may ask how long you're staying and where you'll be. Answer clearly and honestly.
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a visitor's permit valid for up to 90 days. Check the stamp says the correct date. If you need more time, you can apply for an extension later.
4
Collect your luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, go to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare unless you're carrying large amounts of cash or restricted goods. Green channel if nothing to declare.
