Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Greek passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Honduras. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires before you leave, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Honduras
Immigration officers at Toncontín Airport and land borders routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone showing your flight out of Honduras within 90 days.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. Have a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and phone number ready.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Immigration can ask for bank statements or cash to confirm you have enough money for your trip. A credit card and a recent bank statement showing a few hundred dollars usually satisfies them.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Honduran immigration counts the 6 months from your entry date, not your departure. If your passport expires sooner, you will be refused entry — no exceptions.
Keep a copy of your return ticket
Immigration officers often ask to see your onward ticket. A screenshot on your phone is fine, but a printed copy is even safer.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Honduran immigration
At the airport (e.g., Toncontín in Tegucigalpa or Ramón Villeda Morales in San Pedro Sula), join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport, return ticket (printed or on phone), and accommodation confirmation ready.
2
Present documents and get stamped
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your validity, ask your purpose of visit (tourism), and stamp you in. They may ask how long you're staying — answer honestly. The stamp shows your allowed stay (usually 90 days).
3
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. No arrival declaration form is required for Greek citizens.
