Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Greek passport needs to be valid only for the period you plan to stay in Kyrgyzstan — no 6-month rule. Airlines at Athens and other EU hubs may still ask for 6 months validity, so check with your carrier before departure.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kyrgyzstan
Immigration officers at Manas International Airport in Bishkek routinely ask for a confirmed onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Kyrgyzstan. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Have a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least $50 USD per day of your stay. Immigration may ask for this if you look under-funded or have no onward ticket.Recommended
Check your passport validity now
The 6-month validity rule is the most common reason for denial. If your passport expires within 6 months of your planned entry, renew it before booking anything.
Overstaying is costly
Overstaying even by a day can result in a fine of around 1,000 KGS (about €10) per day, plus possible deportation and a ban. Set a reminder to leave before day 60.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Manas International Airport (Bishkek) or Osh Airport
You'll go through immigration control. Join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport, boarding pass, and return ticket ready.
2
Present documents to immigration officer
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your passport validity, ask about your trip (purpose, length of stay), and may ask to see your return ticket and accommodation booking. Answer clearly and confidently.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the entry date and the allowed stay (usually 60 days). Check the stamp before leaving the counter. If the date is wrong, ask for a correction immediately.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's nothing else to do — no visa, no fee, no registration form.
