Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your Greek passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Panama. Immigration officers at Tocumen International Airport check this at the desk — they won't let you through if it expires before you leave.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Panama
Airlines check this at check-in in Greece and Panama immigration may ask for it on arrival. Have a printed or digital copy of your onward flight or bus ticket out of Panama within 90 days.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Keep a copy of your hotel reservation or a letter from your host. Panama immigration rarely asks for it, but having it ready avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Evidence of sufficient money for your stay
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing you can cover your expenses. Panama doesn't enforce a minimum amount, but officers may ask how you'll support yourself during the visit.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Panama, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it before you go.
No extension available
The 90-day visa-free stay cannot be extended. Plan your trip so you leave before day 90. Overstaying can lead to fines and future entry problems.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you fly, gather your passport (valid 6+ months), a return/onward ticket, and your first night's accommodation confirmation. Save digital copies on your phone.
2
Arrive at Tocumen International Airport (PTY)
Most flights land at Panama City's Tocumen Airport. Follow signs to 'Migración' (Immigration). Queues can be 20–60 minutes depending on time of day.
3
Present your passport to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask how long you're staying and where you're staying. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport with a 90-day entry.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually no customs declaration for personal items. Walk through the green channel unless you have something to declare.
