Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Your Greek passport needs at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry into Qatar. Airlines at Athens and other EU hubs check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers in Doha routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready. Without it, you risk being refused entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel booking confirmations or a host's address in Qatar are not always checked, but some officers ask for them. Keep a printed copy of your reservation or an invitation letter from your host.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
You are not required to show a minimum amount, but having a credit card or bank statement showing sufficient funds for your stay helps. Some travellers report being asked how they will support themselves during their visit.Recommended
Visa on arrival is free and fast
Greek passport holders get a 30-day visa on arrival at no cost. No prior application, no forms to fill. Just show your passport and return ticket.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. Airlines check this before boarding, and immigration checks on arrival. If you're close to expiry, renew first.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Hamad International Airport (DOH)
After disembarking, follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Immigration'. There are separate queues for GCC residents and all other passports. Join the 'All Passports' queue.
2
Present documents at immigration counter
Hand over your passport (valid 6+ months), return ticket (screenshot or printed), and accommodation booking if asked. The officer will process your visa on arrival — no payment is required.
3
Receive entry stamp and collect luggage
The officer stamps your passport with a 30-day visa. You then proceed to baggage claim, then customs. The whole process usually takes 15–30 minutes.
