Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Uganda eVisa
Apply online at the Uganda eVisa portal before you travel. The standard tourist eVisa costs $50 USD and is usually processed within 2–3 business days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Entebbe will check it before stamping you in.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Greek passport must be valid for at least the length of your intended stay in Uganda. Airlines at Athens and connecting hubs will check this before you board — if your passport expires sooner, you may be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Uganda
Immigration officers at Entebbe routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Budget airlines flying into Uganda are especially strict about this at check-in. Have a printed or digital copy ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Uganda. Immigration may ask where you're staying, and having a booking reference speeds things up.Recommended
Proof of funds
Evidence of sufficient money for your stay
Have a recent bank statement or a credit card showing available funds. Uganda doesn't publish a fixed minimum, but officers may ask how you'll support yourself during the trip.Recommended
eVisa is the only option
There is no visa on arrival for Greek passport holders. You must apply and receive approval before you travel. Don't show up without it.
Passport validity is strict
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the day you enter Uganda. If it's less, your eVisa will be rejected. Check your passport now.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to visas.immigration.go.ug and fill out the application. You'll need to upload a passport-style photo, your passport data page, and your return ticket. Pay the $50 fee by credit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive your approval letter
Once approved, you'll get an email with an approval letter. Print it out and save a copy on your phone. You'll show this at immigration when you arrive.
3
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport
When you land, head to the immigration hall. Join the queue for 'Visitors' or 'Foreign Passports'. Hand over your passport, printed eVisa approval, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in — usually takes 2–5 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel. You'll pass through customs — declare any goods over $500 or restricted items. Then you're free to leave the airport.
