What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-Visa online
Go to the official Chadian e-Visa portal. Fill in your personal and travel details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the visa fee online. Processing typically takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your visa approval
Once approved, you'll receive an email with your e-Visa. Print two copies — one for immigration at the airport and one as a backup. Save a digital copy on your phone too.
3
Arrive at N'Djamena International Airport
When you land at N'Djamena (the main international airport), head to the immigration queue. Present your passport, printed e-Visa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation. The officer will stamp you in. The process usually takes 10–20 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After clearing immigration, proceed to baggage claim. Then head through customs — there's usually no baggage check unless you're carrying restricted items. Exit into the arrivals hall.
