RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Gabon eVisa
Apply for a Gabon eVisa at evisa.gouv.ga before you travel. The process takes about 72 hours — do not book flights until you have the approval email. Print the eVisa approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Croatian passport
Your Croatian passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Gabon. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration at Libreville International Airport asks for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone. Without one, you may be refused entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Gabon ready. Immigration officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Financial means
Carry evidence of sufficient funds for your stay — a bank statement or credit card statement works. Gabon does not publish a fixed minimum amount, but having at least €500 equivalent is a safe bet.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must show a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate at immigration. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport (and pay a fine). Get the shot at least 10 days before travel.
eVisa is the only option
There is no visa-on-arrival for Croatian passport holders. Do not attempt to travel without an approved eVisa — you will be turned away.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.gouv.ga, fill in your personal and travel details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around €70-100 depending on processing speed). You'll receive a confirmation email within a few days.
2
Pack your documents
Print or save on your phone: the eVisa approval email, your passport, return ticket, accommodation booking, and insurance certificate. Keep them together in a folder or a dedicated phone album.
3
Arrive at Libreville International Airport (LBV)
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Passport Control'. Join the queue for foreign passports. Have your passport and eVisa approval ready. The officer will stamp your passport — this is your entry permit.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually no secondary check for tourists. Exit into the arrivals hall.
