Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Croatian passport needs to be valid only for the length of your stay in Hong Kong. Airlines sometimes ask for 6 months validity beyond departure — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Hong Kong
Immigration officers at Hong Kong International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed or digital hotel reservation for your entire stay. If staying with friends or family, have their name, address, and phone number written down.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your visit
Have access to at least 3,000 HKD per day of your stay. A credit card or bank statement showing available funds works fine.Recommended
Arrival card required
You'll need to fill out an arrival card on the plane or at immigration. Keep the departure portion — you'll hand it in when you leave Hong Kong.
No extension available
The 90-day visa-free stay cannot be extended. If you overstay, you risk fines and a ban. Plan your departure date carefully.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Hong Kong International Airport
Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Immigration'. There are separate queues for Hong Kong residents and visitors. Join the 'Visitors' queue.
2
Present your passport and ticket
Hand over your passport and, if asked, your return ticket. The officer may ask your purpose of visit and where you're staying. Answer clearly and briefly.
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay (usually 90 days). Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when you leave.
4
Collect luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel. Then walk through the green channel if you have nothing to declare, or the red channel if you have dutiable goods.
