Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Croatian passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Kosovo. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Kosovo law, but airlines may enforce a 3-month rule — check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kosovo
Immigration officers at Pristina International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed or digital hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays at the border.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Have a bank statement or cash equivalent to roughly €50 per day of your stay. Immigration rarely checks this for Croatian passport holders, but it's a legal requirement under Kosovo's foreigner regulations.Recommended
Passport validity is critical
Kosovo requires your passport to be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. If it's close to expiry, renew before you go. Airlines check this before boarding.
Overstaying is not worth it
The 90-day visa-free period is not extendable. Overstaying can result in fines, a ban from re-entering Kosovo, or both. Keep track of your days.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare documents before travel
Check your passport expiry date — needs to be 6+ months from landing. Print or save to your phone: return ticket, first night hotel booking, and travel insurance. No visa application needed.
2
Arrival at Pristina International Airport
Join the 'All Passports' queue. Hand over your passport. The officer may ask: purpose of visit, length of stay, where you're staying. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport — that's it. No fee.
3
Land border crossings (e.g. from Serbia, North Macedonia)
Same process as the airport. Have your passport and any supporting documents ready. Queues can be longer at peak times. No visa required.
4
During your stay
You can stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period. The visa-free period is not extendable. Keep your passport safe — you'll need it for hotel check-ins and any police checks.
5
Departure
At the airport or land border, your passport will be stamped out. No exit fee. Make sure you haven't overstayed — overstaying can result in fines or a ban.
