What happens at the border

1
Land at Bahrain International Airport
After deplaning, follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then to 'Visa on Arrival' counters. These are clearly marked and located before the immigration booths.
2
Present documents at the visa counter
Hand over your passport, return ticket (printed or on phone), and hotel booking. The officer will process your visa on the spot — expect 5–10 minutes.
3
Pay the visa fee
The visa on arrival costs around 5 BHD (about €12) and can be paid in cash (Bahraini dinars, euros, or US dollars) or by credit card. Keep the receipt.
4
Proceed to immigration
With the visa stamp in your passport, join the immigration queue. The officer will check your passport and may ask your purpose of visit. Answer briefly — tourism or business is fine.
5
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. There are no additional checks for most tourists. Exit into the arrivals hall.
