What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisacameroon.com and fill out the application. Upload a scanned copy of your passport bio page and a passport-style photo. Pay the fee (around €50–€80 depending on processing speed). You'll receive the eVisa by email within 3–5 business days.
2
Print your eVisa and pack documents
Print the eVisa approval email. Also print or save offline copies of your return ticket, hotel booking, and insurance. Keep everything together in a folder.
3
Arrive at Yaoundé or Douala airport
Most international flights land at Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport or Douala International Airport. Go to the immigration counter, present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in — usually takes 5–10 minutes.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel. You may be asked to show your yellow fever vaccination certificate at customs. Then you're free to exit.

Frequently asked questions

Standard processing takes 3–5 business days. You can pay extra for expedited processing (24–48 hours) for about €80–€100. Apply at least a week before your flight to be safe.
No. There is no visa on arrival for Hungarian citizens. You must have an approved eVisa before you board your flight.
You will be denied entry. Renew your passport before applying for the eVisa. The 6 months are counted from your date of entry into Cameroon.
Yes. Cameroon requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travellers over 1 year old. Carry your yellow card (International Certificate of Vaccination) — customs may check it on arrival.
The eVisa typically allows a stay of up to 90 days. Extensions are possible but not guaranteed — you'd need to visit the immigration office in Yaoundé or Douala before your visa expires. It's simpler to apply for a longer visa upfront if you know you'll stay longer.
You may be denied boarding by your airline or refused entry at immigration. Always carry a printed copy — digital copies on your phone are not always accepted.
It's not officially required for the eVisa, but it's strongly recommended. Medical evacuation can cost tens of thousands of euros. Most travel insurance policies cover Cameroon — check that your policy includes medical evacuation.
