Hungarian passport holders can visit Dominica without a visa for up to 180 days per entry. This policy started in 2024 and covers tourism, business, and short-term stays. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your arrival date.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Hungarian passport must be valid for the entire time you plan to be in Dominica. No minimum validity beyond your stay is required by Dominican law, but airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Dominica
Immigration officers at Douglas-Charles Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready. Overstaying the 180-day limit can result in fines or a ban.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a copy of your hotel reservation, hostel booking, or a letter from your host in Dominica. Officers rarely ask, but having it ready avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Have access to at least $100 USD per day of your stay, either in cash, credit card, or bank statement. Immigration may ask to see evidence that you can support yourself without working.Recommended
180 days per entry, not per year
The 180-day visa-free period resets each time you re-enter Dominica. But if you stay for the full 180 days, you'll need to leave for a meaningful period before coming back — immigration may question back-to-back long stays.
No visa, no fee, no fuss
Hungarian passport holders get a full 180 days visa-free with no application, no fee, and no paperwork. Just show up with a valid passport and a return ticket.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at immigration
At Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM) or Canefield Airport (DCF), follow signs to the immigration hall. There are usually two queues: one for citizens/residents and one for visitors. Join the visitors queue.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport and completed landing card (you'll get it on the plane or at the airport). The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation details. Answer clearly and honestly.
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay (usually 180 days). Check the stamp before walking away. If something looks off, ask the officer to clarify.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. Declare any items over the duty-free limit. Then you're free to leave the airport.
