Indonesian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Cuba in 2026. You must get it approved online before flying — there is no visa-on-arrival option.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for a Cuban tourist eVisa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal. Processing takes 3–5 business days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Havana Airport will stamp it on arrival.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Indonesian passport must be valid for at least the full duration of your stay in Cuba. Airlines at Soekarno-Hatta check this before boarding — if your passport expires before you leave Cuba, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Cuba
Immigration officers at José Martí Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Budget airlines like Viva Air and Copa also check this at check-in. Have a printed or digital copy ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel or casa particular booking
Carry a printed reservation for your first few nights. Immigration rarely asks, but if you arrive without any address, they may question your plans. A simple booking confirmation from Airbnb or a casa particular works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Have a bank statement or credit card showing at least 500 CUC (or equivalent in USD/EUR) for a short trip. Immigration rarely checks, but the law requires you to prove sufficient funds if asked.Recommended
No visa-on-arrival for Indonesian passport holders
You must have your eVisa approved before you fly. There is no way to get a visa at the airport in Cuba.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Cuba, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it first.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Cuban eVisa website (no third-party sites). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a digital passport photo, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Print your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF. Print at least one copy and save it to your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival in Cuba.
3
Prepare your documents for departure
At the airport in Indonesia, the airline will check your passport validity, eVisa, and return ticket. Have them all ready in a folder.
4
Arrive at Havana José Martí International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Migración'. Join the queue for foreign passports. Present your passport, eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation. The officer will stamp your passport and wave you through.
