Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your date of entry. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Cambodia
Immigration officers at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or show it on your phone. Without one, you may be refused entry.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed or digital copy of your hotel reservation or a letter from your host. Immigration rarely asks, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have at least $500 USD in cash or a bank statement ready. Immigration almost never checks this for visa-free Indonesian passport holders, but it's safer to carry some cash.Recommended
Check your passport expiry date now
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Cambodia. If it expires sooner, renew it before booking flights — no exceptions at immigration.
Keep a copy of your return ticket
Immigration officers at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports frequently ask to see an onward ticket. A screenshot on your phone works, but a printed copy is even smoother.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at immigration counter
At Phnom Penh (PNH), Siem Reap (REP), or Sihanoukville (KOS) airports, follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' or 'Visa on Arrival' — but since you're visa-free, just join the regular immigration queue. Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
2
Present documents and get stamped
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel address. Answer clearly. They'll stamp you in — check the stamp says '30 days' before walking away.
3
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, grab your bags from baggage claim, then walk through customs (usually green channel for nothing to declare). You're in Cambodia.

Frequently asked questions

No. The visa-free entry is not extendable. If you want to stay longer, you must leave Cambodia and re-enter, or apply for a visa (like an ordinary visa) before your 30 days are up. Overstaying costs $10 per day and can get you banned.
You can apply for a Cambodia e-Visa (tourist or ordinary) before you travel. The tourist e-Visa costs around $36 and allows a 30-day stay, but it's also not extendable. For longer stays, get an ordinary visa from a Cambodian embassy — that can be extended at the immigration office in Phnom Penh.
No, there is no official requirement to show bank statements or cash. But if you look like you have no money (e.g., no hotel booking, no return ticket), an officer might ask. Having a credit card and a few hundred dollars in cash is smart.
Yes, Indonesian passport holders can enter Cambodia visa-free at any land border crossing — Poipet (from Thailand), Bavet (from Vietnam), or others. Same 30-day stay applies. Just have your passport and onward ticket ready.
You'll be fined $10 per day at immigration when you leave. Overstays over 30 days can lead to a blacklist. Always check your entry stamp date and leave before it expires.
No, Cambodia does not require an arrival declaration form or online pre-registration for visa-free entry. Just show up with your passport and ticket.
Not mandatory, but strongly recommended. Medical costs in Cambodia are high for foreigners — a simple hospital visit can cost $200+. Insurance covers that plus trip cancellation, theft, and evacuation. Get a policy before you go.
