Apply before travel

Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay in Moldova. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by Moldovan law, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Border officers may ask for a return or onward ticket showing you leave Moldova within the eVisa validity period. Have a printed or digital copy ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation
Immigration may request a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host. Keep a copy on your phone or printed.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient money
Have bank statements or cash showing you can support yourself during your stay. No fixed minimum is published, but around $50 per day is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Airlines may enforce 6-month passport validity
Moldovan law doesn't require 6 months of passport validity beyond your stay, but many airlines do. Check with your carrier before booking — if they deny you boarding, the eVisa won't help.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa approval, passport, return ticket, and hotel booking as PDFs on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose the printed copies, you can still show them at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to evisa.gov.md and fill out the application. Upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the €80 fee by card. Processing takes 5–10 working days, so apply at least two weeks before you fly.
2
Pack your documents
Print the eVisa approval letter. Also print or save to your phone: your return ticket, hotel booking, and bank statements. Keep them together in a folder you can grab quickly.
3
Arrive at Chișinău International Airport (KIV)
At passport control, hand over your passport and eVisa approval letter. The officer may ask about your accommodation and return plans. Answer clearly and calmly. The whole process usually takes 5–10 minutes.
4
Enjoy your stay
You're allowed up to 90 days in Moldova within a 180-day period. The eVisa is single-entry — if you leave, you'll need a new one to come back.
