Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply for Russian eVisa
Apply online at the official Russian eVisa portal at least 4 days before travel. The eVisa covers tourism, business, and humanitarian visits — single entry only, max 16 days. Print the approval email and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Indonesian passport must be valid for the entire duration of your stay in Russia. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by Russian law, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Russian airports routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready — they may deny boarding if you cannot show one.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel booking confirmations or a letter of invitation (if staying with friends) are not always checked, but having them ready speeds up the immigration process. Print or save offline copies on your phone.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Officers may ask how you will support yourself during your stay. Carry a bank statement showing at least 500 USD equivalent, or a credit card with sufficient limit. Cash is less common — cards work everywhere in major cities.Recommended
eVisa is single-entry and non-extendable
You can only enter Russia once with this eVisa, and you cannot extend your stay. Plan your trip carefully to avoid overstaying.
Register your stay within 7 days
Russian law requires all foreign visitors to register their place of stay within 7 days of arrival. Hotels do this automatically; if staying with friends or in a private rental, ask your host to handle it.
