Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Zambia. If it's close to expiry, renew before you go. Airlines may also deny boarding if your passport doesn't meet this requirement.
Keep your return ticket handy
Immigration officers often ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed copy or a screenshot on your phone. If you don't have one, you may be refused entry.

Most Irish travellers fly into Lusaka (LUN) or Livingstone (LVI). Follow signs to 'Immigration' after baggage claim. Queue at the 'Foreign Passports' counter.

Present your documents to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport (with at least 6 months validity and one blank page), your return/onward ticket, and your accommodation booking if asked. The officer will stamp you in for up to 90 days.

Collect your luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, grab your bags from the carousel. Customs is usually a quick walk-through unless you have something to declare. Green channel for nothing to declare, red channel for goods over $500 or restricted items.
