Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a DR Congo eVisa at visa.gouv.cd at least 2 weeks before departure. The portal accepts passport scans and a digital photo — processing takes 5–7 business days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport to the immigration desk in Kinshasa.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for 6 months beyond entry
Your Israeli passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from the date you enter DR Congo. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers in Kinshasa and Lubumbashi ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone — they rarely accept verbal promises.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Carry a hotel booking confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in DR Congo. Officers at the border may ask where you are staying — having a printed address and phone number avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Have evidence of sufficient funds for your stay — a bank statement showing at least $500 USD or a credit card with available limit. Immigration rarely checks this, but it helps if questioned.Recommended
Yellow fever certificate is mandatory
You will be denied entry without proof of yellow fever vaccination. Get the shot at least 10 days before travel and carry the yellow card.
Healthcare is limited
Medical facilities are poor. Serious conditions require evacuation. Travel insurance with medical evacuation coverage is strongly advised.
Overstay fines add up fast
Overstays cost $10 USD per day with no cap. If you need more time, visit the DGM office in Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, or Goma before your visa expires to request a 30-day extension.
