What happens at the border

1
Apply for the Iraqi E-Visa
Go to the official Iraqi e-visa website (evisa.mofa.gov.iq). Fill out the application form with your personal and passport details. Upload a recent passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the visa fee online. Processing typically takes a few business days to a couple of weeks.
2
Prepare Your Documents
Once your e-visa is approved, print the approval letter. Also print or save on your phone: your return flight ticket, first night hotel booking confirmation, and your travel insurance policy. Keep your passport handy.
3

Most travellers fly into Baghdad International Airport (BGW) or Erbil International Airport (EBL). At immigration, present your passport, printed e-visa approval, and supporting documents. The officer may ask a few questions about your itinerary. After verification, you'll receive an entry stamp.
