Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your full stay
At least 6 months validity beyond your entry date. Minimum 1 blank page for the entry stamp. Airlines may deny boarding if validity is too close.Required
Return or onward ticket
Officers check this regularly
A confirmed flight out of the country. Immigration may ask to see this — have a screenshot ready on your phone. An onward ticket from a neighbouring country also works.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel name or address
A hotel booking confirmation, or the address of where you are staying. The arrival form often asks for this. A Booking.com or Airbnb confirmation email is fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Rarely checked
Immigration officers may ask you to demonstrate sufficient funds for your stay. A credit card or bank statement usually suffices.Recommended
Passport validity is critical
Your passport must have at least 6 months remaining from the date you enter Armenia. If it expires sooner, your eVisa will be automatically rejected. Renew your passport before starting the application.
Apply early — don't rely on expedited processing
While the official processing time is 2–4 business days, during peak travel seasons (summer, holidays) it can take longer. Submit your eVisa at least 10–14 days before departure to avoid any issues.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Republic of Armenia eVisa website (evisa.mfa.am). Fill in the application form: personal details, passport info, travel dates, and upload a digital passport photo. Pay the fee (around $12–15) with a credit or debit card. You'll receive a confirmation email within minutes.
2
Wait for approval
Processing typically takes 2–4 business days. You'll get an email with the decision. If approved, the eVisa is sent as a PDF attachment. Download and print a copy. Check that all details (name, passport number, dates) match exactly.
3
Depart from India
At your departure airport in India, the airline check-in agent will ask to see your eVisa printout and passport. Show them. They may also ask for a return ticket. Once boarded, you'll fly to Yerevan (Zvartnots International Airport).
4
Arrive at Yerevan airport and go through immigration
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Hand over your passport and the printed eVisa. The officer will scan the barcode, stamp your passport, and let you through. No separate visa-on-arrival queue — eVisa holders use the same lines as all foreign visitors. Keep the entry stamp safe for your exit.
