Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your full stay
At least 6 months validity beyond your entry date. Minimum 1 blank page for the entry stamp. Airlines may deny boarding if validity is too close.Required
Return or onward ticket
Officers check this regularly
A confirmed flight out of the country. Immigration may ask to see this — have a screenshot ready on your phone. An onward ticket from a neighbouring country also works.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel name or address
A hotel booking confirmation, or the address of where you are staying. The arrival form often asks for this. A Booking.com or Airbnb confirmation email is fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Rarely checked
Immigration officers may ask you to demonstrate sufficient funds for your stay. A credit card or bank statement usually suffices.Recommended
eVisa only for tourism/business
The standard eVisa is meant for short visits (tourism, business, family visits). For work, study, or long-term stays, contact the Georgian embassy for the correct visa type.
Do not overstay
Overstaying the eVisa's validity (usually 30 days) can lead to fines, a ban, or difficulties when exiting. Keep your departure date before the visa expires.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to the Georgia eVisa portal (https://www.evisa.gov.ge/). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a digital photo (white background, JPEG), and pay the visa fee (approximately 35–50 GEL, depending on processing speed). Submit the application.
2
Wait for approval
Processing typically takes 3–5 business days, but can be up to 10 days. You'll receive an email with the eVisa PDF once approved. Check your spam folder if it doesn't appear.
3
Print the eVisa
Print a clear copy of the eVisa email/PDF. Keep it with your passport during travel. Digital copies on your phone are not always accepted by border officials.
4
Arrive in Georgia
At the border (airport or land crossing), present your passport and the printed eVisa. The officer will stamp your passport. No other documents are routinely required, but carrying a printed hotel booking and proof of onward travel is wise.
