Indian passport holders can get a visa on arrival when entering Cambodia. The visa is valid for a single entry and a stay of up to 30 days. Your passport must have at least 6 months of remaining validity and one blank visa page. Remember, the visa cannot be extended, so plan your trip accordingly.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa or Visa on Arrival
Visa on arrival or eVisa
You can get a visa on arrival at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or Sihanoukville airports for $30 USD — bring cash in crisp bills. Or apply online at www.evisa.gov.kh for $30 USD plus a $7 processing fee; the eVisa is single-entry and valid for 30 days. The eVisa takes about 3 business days to process, so apply at least a week before you fly.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for 6 months beyond your arrival date
Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity from the day you land in Cambodia. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding. Two blank pages are also required for the visa sticker and entry stamp.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for visa on arrival
Immigration officers at Cambodian airports routinely ask for proof of a flight out of the country before they issue the visa on arrival. Have a printed or digital copy of your onward ticket ready. If you're flying in on a one-way ticket, the airline may refuse to let you board.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from your host. Immigration rarely asks for it at the visa-on-arrival counter, but the airline check-in agent might. A simple Booking.com confirmation printout works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash or bank statement
Officially you need to show at least $1,000 USD or equivalent in cash, traveler's cheques, or a bank statement. In practice, they almost never ask — but if you look underprepared, they might. Keep $500–$1,000 in cash handy just in case.Recommended
No credit cards at visa counter
The visa fee must be paid in US dollars cash. There are no ATMs before immigration, so bring enough USD from home or exchange money at the airport before reaching the visa counter. Carry small denominations (20s, 10s, 5s) to avoid needing change.
Photo service available
If you forget a passport photo, the visa officer will take one for you for a fee (usually 2–5 USD). This is added to the visa cost, so bring extra cash if you don't have your own photo.
Visa on arrival is straightforward for Indian citizens
Cambodia's visa on arrival is straightforward for Indians. The procedure is the same at major airports and most land borders. No prior application is needed — just show up with your passport and fee. Just ensure your passport has the required validity. No complicated forms or interviews.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at a Cambodian airport
Visa on arrival is available at Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap International Airport, and Sihanoukville International Airport. After landing, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' before the main immigration counters. The counters are usually on the left or right side of the arrival hall.
2
Fill out the visa application form
Get the form at the visa counter or from a table nearby. Complete it in capital letters. You'll need your passport details, flight information, and accommodation address. Keep a pen handy.
3
Submit documents and pay the fee
Hand over your passport, completed form, and photo (if you have one). Pay the visa fee in US dollars cash. For a tourist visa, it's 30 USD. The officer will process your application and give you a receipt or a claim token.
4
Wait for visa processing
Processing usually takes 10–20 minutes. You may be asked to wait in a designated area. When your name or passport number is called, collect your passport with the visa sticker attached.
5
Proceed to immigration
After obtaining the visa, go to the foreign passport immigration queue. Present your passport with the new visa, your arrival card (if handed out on the plane), and any supporting documents if requested. The officer will stamp you in. That's it — you're in Cambodia.

Frequently asked questions

The standard tourist visa is 30 USD, and the business visa is 35 USD. Both are for a single entry. You must pay in cash (US dollars). Exact change is preferred; you may not get change if you pay with a large bill.
It allows a stay of up to 30 days. The visa is a single entry, so if you leave Cambodia you'll need a new visa to re-enter. Extensions are not available for this visa type.
No, it's not mandatory. The visa officer can take your photo on the spot for a small fee (around 2–5 USD). But bringing your own photo speeds up the process and saves that extra cost.
Yes, many international land border crossings (like Poipet from Thailand, Bavet from Vietnam, and Cham Yeam from Thailand) also offer visa on arrival for Indian citizens. The process and cost are similar. However, some smaller crossings may not offer it, so check in advance.
The visa on arrival counters are generally open for all arriving flights. But if your flight is very late (e.g., after midnight), there may be limited staff and a longer wait. Carrying your own photo and exact change helps. If the counter is closed, you'll have to wait until morning.
No. The tourist and business visas issued on arrival cannot be extended. If you need to stay longer than 30 days, you must apply for an extension at the Immigration Department in Phnom Penh before your 30 days expire — but this is only possible if you entered on a different visa type (e.g., e-visa or visa from an embassy). For a visa on arrival, overstaying incurs a fine of about 10 USD per day.
It's not always checked, but immigration officers may ask for proof of onward travel and accommodation. To avoid any trouble, have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or bus ticket and your hotel reservation ready.
