Indian passport holders need a visa to enter the Philippines for tourism or business. Obtain it from a Philippine embassy or consulate before travel — there is no visa on arrival for Indian citizens. If you hold a valid visa from the US, Japan, Australia, Canada, or a Schengen country, you can enter without a visa for up to 14 days.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your full stay
At least 6 months validity beyond your entry date. Minimum 1 blank page for the entry stamp. Airlines may deny boarding if validity is too close.Required
Return or onward ticket
Officers check this regularly
A confirmed flight out of the country. Immigration may ask to see this — have a screenshot ready on your phone. An onward ticket from a neighbouring country also works.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel name or address
A hotel booking confirmation, or the address of where you are staying. The arrival form often asks for this. A Booking.com or Airbnb confirmation email is fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Rarely checked
Immigration officers may ask you to demonstrate sufficient funds for your stay. A credit card or bank statement usually suffices.Recommended
Conditional visa‑free entry for certain visa holders
If you hold a valid visa (not a visa waiver or expired) from the US, Japan, Australia, Canada, or a Schengen country, you can skip the Philippine visa altogether and stay up to 14 days. Your original visa must be valid at the time of entry. This is a one‑time entry – you can’t re‑enter under this scheme unless you leave and come back with a new trip.
No visa on arrival — plan ahead
Do not assume you can get a visa at the airport in Manila, Cebu, or Clark. Philippine immigration does not issue visas on arrival for Indian nationals. You must have a valid visa (or qualify for the conditional visa‑free entry) before you board your flight. Airlines check this before issuing a boarding pass.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the visa 4–6 weeks before travel
Visit the Philippine embassy or a consulate in person (some allow authorized agents). Fill out the application form, attach your photo, and submit your supporting documents. Pay the fee (cash or demand draft). Processing takes 5–10 working days. You can either collect your passport or have it couriered back.
2
Book your flight and accommodation
Once your visa is approved, book your flights and hotels. Make sure your return ticket is within the visa’s validity period. Keep printouts of all confirmations in your hand luggage.
3
Complete eTravel registration
Within 72 hours before your flight, go to etravel.gov.ph, fill in your details, and save the QR code. Show it at check-in and upon arrival in the Philippines.
4
Arrival at a Philippine airport (Manila, Cebu, etc.)
After deplaning, follow signs to Immigration for foreign passport holders. Join the queue for visitors. Present your passport with the visa, completed arrival card (given on the plane or at a kiosk), your eTravel QR code, and your return ticket if asked. The officer will stamp you in. Usually straightforward.
5
Clear customs and collect luggage
After immigration, pick up your baggage from the carousel, then proceed to Customs. Declare any goods above the duty-free limit (PHP 10,000 or equivalent in cash, or any restricted items). Red and green channels operate as usual.

Frequently asked questions

Not directly. The Philippines does not offer a full e-visa for Indian passport holders. You must apply in person at the embassy in Delhi or at one of the consulates (Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata). Some travel agents can process it on your behalf, but you still need to appear for biometrics in most cases. A pilot e-visa program exists for certain nationalities, but as of 2025, it is not yet available for India.
The visa fee is around ₹3,000 for regular processing (5–7 working days) and about ₹5,000 for express (2–3 working days). Exact amounts may vary slightly — check the embassy’s website. Additional fees apply if using a courier service for return of your passport.
The standard tourist visa (9a) is valid for 30 days from arrival. You can extend it once at the Bureau of Immigration in the Philippines for another 30 days (fee around PHP 3,000–4,000). Extensions beyond that require additional paperwork and proof of funds.
Yes, but you can use that visa as a substitute for the Philippine visa. Indian passport holders with a valid visa from the US, Japan, Australia, Canada, or a Schengen country can enter the Philippines visa-free for up to 14 days. Your foreign visa must be valid at the time of entry and you must have a return ticket within 14 days. No need to apply for a Philippine visa in that case.
Overstaying results in a fine of PHP 500 per month (plus PHP 1,000 processing fee) and you’ll be blacklisted if the overstay exceeds 18 months. Always extend on time or leave before your visa expires. The Bureau of Immigration offices are in major cities.
Not for Indian citizens. There is no visa-on-arrival facility for India. The only exception is the conditional visa-free entry if you hold a valid US/Japan/Australia/Canada/Schengen visa, but that's not a visa on arrival — it's a waiver. You must still have that valid visa in your passport.
No mandatory vaccinations for India. However, if you’re coming from a country with yellow fever, you need a certificate. India is not a yellow fever zone, so it’s not required. Travel insurance covering medical expenses is strongly recommended.
