Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Seychelles Travel Authorization (ETA)
Apply online before travel
Apply at seychelles.govtas.com at least a few days before departure. The approval is linked to your passport and costs around $10 USD. Print the approval or have a screenshot ready — immigration checks it on arrival.Apply for Travel AuthorizationRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport needs at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Seychelles does not enforce a 6-month validity rule — just ensure it covers your full stay.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration at Seychelles International Airport regularly asks for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a digital version on your phone ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Officers may ask for a hotel reservation or a letter from your host. Keep a copy of your booking confirmation or host's contact details handy.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient money for stay
You may be asked to show you have enough funds for your trip — around $150 USD per day is a safe benchmark. A bank statement or credit card works.Recommended
No visa needed — just show up
Indian passport holders get a free visitor's permit on arrival for up to 90 days. No application, no fee, no embassy visit.
Passport validity is critical
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. Airlines check this before you board — if it's close, renew first.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Seychelles International Airport (SEZ)
You'll land at the main airport on Mahé. Follow signs to immigration. There are usually two queues: one for Seychellois and residents, one for visitors. Join the visitors queue.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport and return ticket (printed or on phone). The officer may ask a few questions like how long you're staying and where you're staying. Answer clearly.
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a visitor's permit valid for up to 90 days. Check the stamp says the right dates before you walk away.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. You're free to go.
