Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you're in Seychelles. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires before you leave, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Seychelles
Immigration officers at Seychelles International Airport ask for a return or onward ticket before they stamp you in. Have a printed copy or a digital version on your phone ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
You may be asked to show where you're staying for the first few nights. A hotel confirmation email or a letter from a host works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Officers can ask for proof you can cover your expenses — a bank statement or credit card showing available funds. No set minimum amount, but have something ready.Recommended
Seychelles Travel Authorization
Online pre-approval required before travel
Apply at seychelles.govtas.com at least a few days before your flight. You'll need your passport details, flight info, and accommodation. Approval comes by email — print it or save it on your phone.Apply for Travel AuthRequired
No visa needed, but be prepared
You don't need to apply for anything before you go. Just have your passport, return ticket, and accommodation proof ready. Immigration is straightforward but they do check documents.
Passport validity is critical
The 6-month validity rule is strictly enforced. If your passport expires sooner, you'll be turned away at the airport. Check your passport now, not the night before you fly.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before departure
Make sure your passport has 6+ months validity and at least 1 blank page. Book your return/onward ticket and first night's accommodation. Save screenshots of both on your phone. Consider getting travel insurance and a local eSIM.
2
Arrive at Seychelles International Airport (SEZ)
You'll land at Seychelles International Airport on Mahé. Follow signs to immigration. There are separate queues for citizens and foreigners — join the 'Foreign Passports' queue.
3
Present your passport and supporting documents
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation details. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport with a visitor's permit valid for up to 90 days. No fee is charged.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. You're free to enter Seychelles. Keep your passport handy — you'll need it for hotel check-in and any domestic flights.
