Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Seychelles. Immigration officers at Seychelles International Airport check this at the border.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration will ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket before granting entry. Airlines also check this at check-in — without it, you won't board.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a printed or digital hotel reservation for your entire stay. If staying with friends or family, carry an invitation letter with their contact details.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Carry evidence of at least $100 USD per day of your stay — cash, credit card, or bank statement. Immigration rarely asks, but they can deny entry if you can't show means.Recommended
Seychelles Travel Authorization (eTA)
Mandatory online pre-approval
Apply at seychelles.govtas.com at least 24 hours before travel. The eTA costs $10 USD and is valid for a single entry. Print the approval email or save it on your phone — immigration checks it on arrival.Apply for eTARequired
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines check this before you board. If your passport expires within 6 months of your arrival date, you will not be allowed to fly. Double-check before you book.
No visa, no fee, no form
Italian passport holders get a free 90-day stamp on arrival. No application, no payment, no online form. Just show up with the right documents.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Seychelles International Airport (SEZ)
You'll land at the main airport on Mahé. Follow signs to immigration. There's usually one queue for all foreign visitors.
2
Present your documents at immigration
Hand over your passport, return ticket (printed or on phone), and accommodation confirmation. The officer may ask a few questions — where you're staying, how long, purpose of visit. Answer clearly.
3
Get your entry stamp
If everything's in order, you'll get a stamp in your passport valid for up to 90 days. No fee, no form to fill. The whole process takes 5–10 minutes.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, grab your bags from the carousel and walk through customs. There's usually no baggage check unless you're carrying restricted items.
