Jordanian passport holders need an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) to enter Israel. Apply online before you travel — it's quick, cheap, and valid for two years, so no embassy visit is required.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Israel ETA-IL (eVisa)Jordanian passport holders must obtain this online entry permit before flying to Israel.
Online entry permit
Apply online at the official Israeli government portal (interior.gov.il/en/eta) at least 72 hours before travel. Fee: 25 ILS (~$7 USD). Processing takes minutes to a few hours. The permit is valid for 2 years or until passport expiry, whichever comes first. Not extendable.Required
Passport validityCheck your passport expiry date — if it's within 6 months, renew it before applying for the ETA-IL.
At least 6 months
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended date of entry into Israel.Required
Blank passport pagesMake sure there's a clean page for border control to stamp.
At least 1 blank page

Proof of departure
You may be asked to show a confirmed return or onward ticket proving you will leave Israel before your permitted stay ends.Required
Proof of fundsNot always checked, but good to have in case.
Sufficient for stay
Be prepared to show evidence of sufficient funds (cash, cards, bank statements) to cover your stay in Israel.Recommended
Arrival declarationYou don't need to fill out any extra form on arrival.
Not required
No separate arrival declaration is required for Jordanian passport holders entering Israel. Not required
Apply early — don't rely on instant approval
While the ETA is usually approved in minutes, it can take up to a few hours. Apply at least 72 hours before your flight to avoid last-minute stress. Also, double-check that your name and passport number match your application exactly — any mismatch means rejection.
ETA is not a visa
The ETA is an electronic travel authorization, not a visa. It doesn't allow you to work, study, or stay long-term. It's strictly for tourism, business visits, or transit. If you need a longer stay or different purpose, contact the Israeli embassy.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your ETA online
Go to the official Israeli government ETA portal (interior.gov.il/en/eta). Fill in your passport details, personal info, and travel dates. Pay the 25 ILS (~$7 USD) fee online. Approval typically comes in minutes to a few hours, but apply at least 72 hours before departure to be safe.
2
Check your approval email
You'll receive an email with your ETA approval. Save it on your phone or print a copy — you'll need to show it at check-in and possibly at border control. Double-check that your name and passport number match exactly.
3
Arrive at the airport or border crossing
When you land at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) or cross via the Allenby Bridge / Yitzhak Rabin crossing, present your passport and ETA approval. Israeli border officers may ask questions about your stay — answer honestly and keep your answers consistent with your ETA application.
4
Receive your entry stamp
After clearance, you'll get an entry stamp (or in some cases, a paper slip) with your permitted stay. Keep this document safe — you'll need it when you leave.

Your Israeli ETA allows you to enter Israel, but travel to the West Bank or Gaza is subject to separate Israeli military regulations. Check current restrictions before planning any cross-border travel.
No. The ETA does not allow extensions. You must leave before your permitted stay ends. Overstaying can result in fines, deportation, or a ban from re-entry.
