Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before you fly
Jordan passport holders need a visa for Kazakhstan. Apply online at the official eVisa portal — processing takes 3–5 business days. Print the approval email and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your passport needs at least two blank pages for entry stamps. Kazakhstan does not require 6 months validity beyond your departure date — just enough to cover your stay.Required
Return or onward ticket
Immigration may ask for it
Border officers at Almaty and Nur-Sultan airports sometimes ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or onward ticket ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Kazakhstan. Immigration rarely checks, but having it avoids delays if asked.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers may ask how you'll fund your trip. Have a bank statement or credit card showing at least $500–$1,000 available. Cash in USD or EUR is easiest to show.Recommended
Apply early — no visa on arrival
There is no visa on arrival for Jordanian passport holders. The e-visa takes several days to process, so don't leave it until the last minute.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your e-visa PDF, passport scan, return ticket, and hotel booking in a folder on your phone. Also email them to yourself. If your phone dies, you can access them from any device.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-visa
Go to evisa.e-gov.kz, create an account, fill in your details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online. Processing takes 3–5 business days. You'll receive the approved visa by email.
2
Check in for your flight
At the airline counter, present your passport and the e-visa approval. The agent will verify both before issuing your boarding pass.
3
Arrive at a Kazakh airport
At Nursultan Nazarbayev (Astana) or Almaty airport, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Have your passport, e-visa, and return ticket ready. The officer will stamp you in — usually no questions if your documents are in order.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. You're free to enter.
